London leads other Ontario cities in the rate of business ownership among immigrants, according to 2021 Census data. During 2021, 19.5% of working-age immigrants living in London were business owners, compared with 12.7% of non-immigrant residents. By comparison, Ontario’s largest city, Toronto, had a 19.2% rate of business ownership among working-age immigrants, whereas 15.6% of non-immigrants were business owners. Other cities in the province of Ontario with high rates of immigrant entrepreneurship included Windsor (18 percent), Hamilton (17.9 percent), and Kitchener-Cambridge-Waterloo (16.2 percent).
