How Points Are Received for Express Entry to Canada

The Express Entry Canadian immigration system uses a points system to select which skilled foreign workers will be given an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency. In order to file an Express Entry online profile, a skilled foreign worker must satisfy the eligibility requirements for one of the Canadian immigration programs that qualify for Express Entry to Canada. Additionally, the Express Entry candidate must achieve a high points score that is above a certain minimum cut-off score in order to be issued an Invitation to Apply for Canadian permanent residency. The Express Entry system awards up to 1,200 points total based on different factors such as a skilled foreign worker’s age, English or French language skills, education, work experience and receiving a nomination for a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). If an Express Entry candidate gets an Invitation to Apply, he or she can then file an Application for Permanent Residency in Canada. To read more, click here!
